Please join us the second Thursday of each month in the Main Library Board Room from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Registration is required. Call 480-644-3872
Book Group copies will be provided to the first 10 registrants.

Our group reads a variety of fiction and an occasional nonfiction title.

Baby Lapsit

Main Library, Youth Activity Room
Wednesdays, June 4–July 30, 10:30 – 11:00 a.m.

Baby Lapsits introduce the rhythm and beauty of language to babies, aged birth to 18 months, using rhymes, songs, and simple stories. This program – limited to one child per grown-up lap – helps enrich the bond between caregiver and child, while building the foundation for a lifelong love of books and reading. No registration required.

 

Summer Reading Program & Kick-off Events

The summer reading program is back! May 27 - July 27, 2008, kids are encouraged to "Catch the Reading Bug". Free burritos from Chipotle Mexican Grill, free tickets to Phoenix Mercury and Phoenix Roadrunner games, and free books! These are just some of the great prizes that Mesa’s young readers can receive, when they participate in the City of Mesa Library’s 2008 Summer Reading Programs! Three programs are being offered (each with a different set of prizes), based on the age of the reader. The “Baby Bunny” program will be for infants and toddlers; the “Catch the Reading Bug” program will be for children; and, the “Metamorphosis” program will be for teens. No matter the age of the child, they are invited to join this free program and earn prizes for reading, or being read to, this summer! Come to any City of Mesa library, beginning May 27, to join. Please join us for stories, music and fingerplays geared for ages 2-5.
No registration necessary. This program is held in the Dobson Program Room. Sorry, we are unable to accompany groups of five or more children.
