TEACHER BOOK BUCKETS
What are Teacher Book
Buckets?
Teacher Book
Buckets is a new Mesa Public Library
service offered to pre-school,
homeschool, daycare, and elementary
school teachers. Buckets contain 15 – 25
books on a topic plus a teacher’s guide
ready for quick & easy checkout. The
teacher’s guide includes a list of
helpful websites on the topic, a
bibliography of library-owned titles,
and photocopiable worksheets.
What are the topics?
So far we’ve created Buckets for the
following topics/grade levels:
•
Alphabet/Numbers (pre-school – 1st
grade)
•

•

•

grade)
•

How can I get a Bucket?
The links in the list above will take
you directly into the record for each
Bucket in the Library’s catalog. To
request the Bucket, click on the “Place
Request” button and follow directions on
your screen. You will be notified by
phone or e-mail when the Bucket is
ready. Teacher Book Buckets can be
picked up at the Mesa Main Library 1st
floor desk. If the Bucket is already
checked out to someone else, you’ll be
added to the waiting list for the
Bucket. Hint: Look for the line that
reads “Holds” to see how many people are
waiting for the Bucket.
What are the Library’s Policies for
Teacher Book Buckets?
•
Teachers need a current Mesa Public
Library card.
• Buckets
are available at the Main Library only.
• Pick up and return Buckets
at the Main Library’s 1st floor desk.
• Buckets are loaned
for three weeks. If returned late, fines
will accrue at the rate of $1.00 per
day.
• To keep a Bucket
longer, visit the Library’s online
catalog. If no patrons are waiting, you
can renew the Bucket
for another three weeks. If you need
assistance with renewal, call the
Library’s Reference Desk number at
480-644-3100.
• The borrower is
responsible for returning all the
contents of the Bucket
(contents are listed in the teacher’s
guide). If the Bucket
is returned with items missing, the
borrower will be charged a $10.00 fee
for each missing item. If the missing
item is returned within 90 days, there
is no charge. Replacement cost for the
entire Bucket is
$200.00.
• Since the Teacher
Book Bucket is too large to fit
in the Library bookdrop, it must be
returned during open hours.
• If a
book is damaged, please notify staff
when you return the Bucket.
